EFFECTIVENESS OF TEACHER RECRUITMENT AND PLACEMENT IN MTS
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of teacher recruitment and placement at MTs As-Syahaadah, focusing on the implementation of the recruitment process, teacher placement according to their competencies, and the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting the effectiveness of teacher recruitment and placement. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews with the head of the madrasah, vice principal for curriculum affairs, administrative staff, and teachers, and were strengthened through observation and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of teacher recruitment and placement at MTs As-Syahaadah has not been fully effective. The recruitment process has been conducted based on the needs of the madrasah; however, in practice, there are still limitations in matching the need for teaching staff with the qualifications and competencies of available teachers. This is reflected in the finding that some teachers teach subjects outside their areas of expertise or competence. This condition indicates that teacher placement has not been fully based on the compatibility between educational background, professional competence, and assigned teaching responsibilities. Supporting factors include the need for teaching staff, internal cooperation within the madrasah, and leadership policies, while inhibiting factors include the limited availability of teachers whose qualifications match the required fields of expertise and the needs of the madrasah. This study concludes that the effectiveness of teacher recruitment and placement at MTs As-Syahaadah still needs to be improved, particularly through more systematic teacher workforce planning, competency-based selection processes, and teacher placement that is more closely aligned with their qualifications and areas of expertise.
